Sister, Will You Marry Me (a tribute to The White Stripes)
by Michael Morse (c) 2011
Jack was running an upholstery shop that he dressed in all yellow and black
Meg was busy tending bar at a Detroit BBQ shack
He picked himself as quite a collector but Meg's collection was bigger than his
Even though she was his little sister, Jack, he just couldn't resist
Meg let's build a home
so we'll never ever be alone
Come on, don't you want to see
Sister, will you marry me
Jack was playing in a couple of bands but nothing ever seemed to click
till the day Meg sat behind the drums and proceeded to pick up the sticks
Like a child she hammered away, Jack responded with a sonic blast
They had a little feelin' goin' now and they knew they had to make it last
Meg let's build a home
so we'll never ever be alone
Come on, don't you want to see
Sister, will you marry me
They made it last for 13 years but then it all had to end
I know the music will never die but it feels like I lost a friend
I guess Jack knows what he's doing and I'm sure Meg she knows too
With what's left we can do what we like 'cause now it belongs to me and you
