about
This was my grandfather's favorite song. It was written by Stephen Foster in 1851 and later adopted as Florida's state song. Every time I played guitar for my Grandpa he would request "Way Down Upon The Swanee River" but I never learned to play it. When his health took a turn for the worse I knew I had to learn the song and send him a recording. Thankfully he got to hear it and tell me he liked it very much. I have such fond memories of staying at his house when I was little and I will think of those every time I hear any version of this song. I love you Grandpa.
